Why calibrate
KISTERS recommends sensors and dataloggers have periodic recalibration, maintenance and firmware updates to maintain data accuracy and support evolving technologies. Routine service minimises risk of failure and extends equipment life.
Service process
- Verify inputs and outputs against accuracy standards — calibration certificate issued
- Inspect terminals, ports, and peripheral components
- Update datalogger and peripheral firmware (e.g. cellular modem readiness for Starlink)
- Replace internal battery
- Check communication and connectivity health
- Optional factory reset on request
Calibration certificate
Each certificate includes:
- Accuracy verification – confirms readings within tolerance
- Traceability – results traceable to IANZ standards
- Compliance – supports regulatory and QA frameworks (ISO 9001:2015)
- Recalibration guidance – certificates valid up to 24 months; frequency advised by usage, environment, and policy
